Woman Fires Shots After Domestic Violence Attack
A Walnut Street woman said she used a gun to fend off an attack against her and her dog early Wednesday morning.
The call came into PPD around 2:30 am. The woman said a man attacked her and her dog, and she fired two shots at him before he fled the scene. She said she’d put the weapon down in the street.
When police arrived at the scene, they detained the woman while they searched for the man. There were no reports of gunshot wound victims at local hospitals, and officers eventually located the man at a neighbor’s house.
They impounded the gun and arrested the man for domestic violence. The man has a long criminal history, including previous arrests for trafficking in heroin, felonious assault, DUI, Kidnapping, weapons charges, parole violation, burglary, and criminal trespass.
