A woman contacted officers to report her boyfriend had stolen her English Bulldog, one that she was still paying for.
She told deputies she had financed the dog back when she was dating her ex-boyfriend but let him keep it while she was “Handling her DUI charge and getting her CNA license.”
Now that her life was under control, she wanted the dog back. However, the boyfriend told her the dog died and blocked her number.
However, she saw that her ex had posted pictures of the dog online. She looked up the dog’s microchip and discovered it was still alive. Officers said they would look into it, but if she purchased the dog with the boyfriend, it would be a civil issue.
Yorkie Goes Missing from 10th Street
A pet owner called Portsmouth Police at 1 am to report a dog napping.
He said someone broke into his home and stole his Yorkie named “Lil Bit.” He told officers he suspected his neighbor.
Police knocked on the neighbor’s door but didn’t get an answer. Officers took information for a report.
