Portsmouth Police officers arrested Samantha Penix after she ran a stop sign on 8th Street but failed to pull over for officers.
Instead, the 36-year-old Portsmouth woman led officers on a chase, turning onto Broadway, then Jackson, heading over the overpass on Young Street, turning onto Vinton, and then Grant before stopping on Center Street.
Police arrested her for obstructing official business, fleeing police, failure to appear, and probation violation.
She has a long history of traffic cases, including fictitious tags, failure to maintain distance, unrestrained child, and driving without a license, as well as previous criminal charges, including theft and criminal trespass. She was once again driving without a license during this stop.
