A mom says her child was mistreated by an aide on a school bus, and he has the injuries to prove it. Officers first learned of the incident when the mom contacted law enforcement to report an assault by a bus aide. She said her son had several scratch marks near his wrist and told her the bus aide grabbed him.
Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputies got the number of the bus, and the name of the driver and aide, then went to interview them.
Officers interviewed the aide and his union rep, and he said the child was already buckled in his seat when he got on the bus and that he dropped him home about 5 minutes later without incident.
The driver said that when she got on the bus, she helped the child take off his jacket, and then the aide assisted the child with buckling the seat belt without incident. She also agreed that the child was on the bus less than 5 minutes before being dropped off at home to meet his mother and the family dogs at the end of their driveway.
Deputies forwarded the complaint to CPS for further investigation.
