Woman Says Sex Offender Keeps Using Her Address to Register
A woman contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to report a dispute with a registered sex offender.
She said the man, who was not welcome in her home, had locked her out of her house and said he wouldn’t let her back in until the police came.
The woman said she had an ongoing issue with the man who kept using her address to register as a sex offender. When officers arrived at the scene, they offered to get an ambulance to take the upset man to the hospital, but he refused.
Officers assured the woman they would advise the man not to use her address.
Elderly Woman Breaks Hip, No Ambulance Available
An elderly woman fell and broke her hip around 3:15 am, but it took some time to get an ambulance to the scene.
At 3:29 am, dispatch learned the first squad they contacted was unbailable. Portsmouth Ambulance was also unavailable.
A couple of minutes later, Dispatch tried to get another squad, but they didn’t get a response. Five minutes after that, they tried to contact three other squads but each time received no response.
At 3:36, Dispatch contacted PPD to see if they had a medic, but they did not have enough staff to cover. Dispatch called back to apprise the injured person of the situation, saying that they’d have a squad there as soon as one was free.
EMT-Ohio ended up taking the call and transported the injured person to SOMC.
