Shoplifters and other troublemakers vexed employees at multiple local stores.
Employees of Dollar General called officers at 10 pm to report they’d caught a shoplifter in the act at the store on Gallia Street.
Police caught up with the woman at the 6th Street Carryout. She returned the items and store employees trespassed her.
Shoplifter also hit the Family Dollar on 11th Street. Witnesses described them as a man and a woman carrying a red backpack. Police caught up with them near Staker’s and took information for a report.
Speedway employees called officers to report a shoplifter just before midnight. Officers arrested the man for theft and issued a no-trespass order for the man. Police booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
At 3 am, employees reported another shoplifter. Police also took that man into custody and served him with a no-trespass order.
Dollar General Employees told officers a woman who appeared to be on drugs was swinging a small axe in the store. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a woman with mental health issues who they said was acting normal for her. Police advised her to quit causing problems.
