Woman Using Life Alert For Room Service – Deputies Issue Warning
Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies had to issue a warning about a woman whose been hitting her Life Alert medical alarm too often for the wrong reasons.
We told you last week how a deputy responded to the home to help the woman put her oxygen back in and get her a soda. However, deputies say she continuously presses the button for non-emergency reasons, such as wanting a drink from the fridge.
Officers spoke with the woman and family members about the issue.
Drugs Left In 6th Street Mailbox
A 6th Street resident contacted the police with a strange report on Saturday night. She said someone put drugs in her mailbox.
The woman said they caught the incident on a security camera. The video showed a man leaving four pills in the mailbox. Police impounded the pills to destroy.
Dog Attack on Jackson Street
A Jackson Avenue caller contacted officers around 1 am to report a dog running loose in the area. She said the dog came after her and also other people walking by the area.
She said the dog lived at a home on Jackson Street. Officers forwarded the information to animal control.
DUI at Burger King
Officers stopped a vehicle near Burger King at 3 am on Sunday morning.
They ended up taking a 20-year-old woman into custody for driving under the influence. Police took the woman to the Scioto County Jail and arranged for her vehicle to be towed and impounded.
Drugs Found in Diaper Bag
After attempting to assist a driver who had been pulled over beside the road, troopers discovered “a large amount of narcotics” in a diaper bag.
The Trooper asked for the vehicle to be searched after the female driver gave indications of being overly nervous.
A woman’s diaper bag was found, but no sign of a child or car seat was noted.
When the troopers opened the bag, they located heroin, Xanax pills, and methamphetamine.
After being arrested, the woman was taken to the hospital for treatment for an injury she sustained during the traffic stop.
