A late-night furniture toss led to a tense scene on Heritage Drive when a man called deputies to report that his mother-in-law had thrown all of his belongings into the yard.
Around 10:47 p.m., deputies responded to the Wheelersburg residence, where the man said the woman—who doesn’t live there—had no right to handle his property. The Scioto County Sheriff’s official report reveals the woman was helping her daughter move out after a verbal argument with her husband.
Though there were no signs of violence or threats, deputies confirmed the woman had permission from her husband to collect belongings for herself and their child. Officers explained the civil nature of the dispute and made sure the departure was peaceful.
Why This Matters: Domestic separations rarely go smoothly. We previously reported on a similar blowup where confusion over who owned what led to a property dispute — and a police response.
What We’ve Learned: If you’re flinging someone’s pants out the front door, make sure you’re not breaking the law. And maybe leave the drama to Netflix.
