The Scioto County Grand Jury has indicted three men in connection with a fatal shooting last November that left a 24-year-old man dead in a bullet-riddled SUV on Disterdick Lane in Franklin Furnace.

- Jacub Tyler Carver, 26, Franklin Furnace – Murder, Voluntary Manslaughter, Involuntary Manslaughter
- Thomas McCall, 47, Ashland, KY – Murder, Involuntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Robbery (2 counts), Robbery
- Cayden Robertson, 24, – Murder, Involuntary Manslaughter, Aggravated Robbery (2 counts), Robbery
What Happened That Night
On November 15, 2024, Scioto County deputies responded to a 911 call just before 8 p.m. A witness told dispatchers he had been robbed at gunpoint while traveling with a pregnant woman. When officers and EMS arrived, they discovered Ronnie Rowe, 24, dead in the driver’s seat of an SUV riddled with bullet holes.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) was called to help process the chaotic scene. Investigators quickly learned Carver had been inside the vehicle with Rowe before fleeing on foot. Deputies located him walking along U.S. 52 and took him into custody.
The Alleged Robbery and Shooting
According to the indictment, McCall and Robertson acted as accomplices in the robbery. Prosecutors allege that as the group attempted to flee the scene, Carver opened fire into Rowe’s vehicle, fatally striking him.
Rowe’s body was taken by the Scioto County Coroner’s Office and sent to Montgomery County for forensic examination.
Court Proceedings
Carver was initially charged with murder, attempted murder, and felonious assault. His bond was set at $100,000. Now, all three men face upgraded charges, with arraignments scheduled for October 10 in Scioto County Common Pleas Court.
