Randall Wells, 86, of New Boston, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 14, 2020. He was born August 13, 1933, in Paintsville, KY to Ashley and Marie (Tackett) Wells. Randall spent years doing farm work, along with odd jobs. He was talented in working on cars, enjoyed checkers, and loved going to church where he was a member at the First Apostolic Church in Portsmouth.
He is survived by one son, Phillip Wells of New Boston; one daughter, Linda (Curt) Brock of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Kimberly (Jamey) Harr, Shawna (Nick) Huffman, Jeremy (Julie) Hatfield, Randy Wells; eight great-grandchildren, Alex, Hannah, Mason, Logan, Liam, Griffin, Weston, and Ashton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma; one son, Randy Wells; and a sister, Betty Eshem.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2020, at the First Apostolic Church in Portsmouth with Pastor Tony Knittel officiating. Friends may call from 12 – 2 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the recent Portsmouth City Council ruling, masks will be required for attendance at both the visitation and the funeral.
