A CPS worker called PPD to report a possible case of child abuse. The employee said she was discussing an abuse case with a child’s father when he became upset and asked her to leave. She told officers the child had claimed the dad put his hands around their mouth and chin.
When officers headed to the home, the dad explained it was the third or fourth time the agency had been to his house because his child was prone to making things up. The man said his attorney had advised him not to speak with caseworkers.
Officers also spoke to the child alone, and the child denied any abuse. She said she’d had a disagreement with her father that morning. Police noted no physical injuries to the child and said the house was in good order.
The man said he would call the agency back.
