A routine trip to the grocery store turned into a Breaking Bad moment at the Gay Street Kroger, after an employee found a suspicious baggie at the self-checkout station — and it wasn’t filled with sugar.
The tiny bag looked a whole lot like it was packed with methamphetamine, and employees wasted no time calling the cops. Officers responded to the scene and agreed — the mystery crystals had all the hallmarks of meth.
The baggie was impounded on the spot and taken to the station for destruction. No arrests were made, and investigators are still trying to determine who dropped the dope while scanning groceries.
🧠 Found Drugs? Here’s What to Do — and Not Do
It’s not every day you find meth next to the barcode scanner, but if you stumble upon suspicious substances, here’s how to stay safe and out of trouble:
✅ DO:
- Leave it where it is. Don’t touch the substance or container — you don’t know what you’re dealing with.
- Alert store staff or management right away.
- Call local police if you’re in a public area without employees nearby.
- Wash your hands if you came into contact with it. Some drugs can be absorbed through the skin.
❌ DON’T:
- Don’t try to smell, open, or taste the baggie. This isn’t a mystery flavor challenge.
- Don’t take it with you “to report later” — you could be mistaken for a suspect.
- Don’t ignore it — abandoned drugs are a serious risk, especially in places kids or unsuspecting shoppers can find them.
Whether it was dropped, ditched, or forgotten, one thing’s for sure — meth at the market is never on the shopping list.
