Relationship issues caused several local individuals to spend the holidays behind bars.
Portsmouth Police were called in to assist New Boston officers with a domestic involving a man refusing to leave a home just after midnight on Monday. They ended up arresting Austin Adkins for domestic violence and aggravated burglary and booked him into the Scioto County Jail.
At exactly the same time, officers headed to 7th Street after a caller said a man with several knives in his possession was refusing to leave his ex-girlfriend’s home on 7th Street. Officers advised him of a protection order and told him to leave.
A woman called the police on Christmas Eve after she said her ex-boyfriend had showed up at her home to visit another resident. She said she was afraid because he’d attacked her with a crowbar in the past. Officers advised her to file for a protection order after the new year.
Police responded to the Park Apartments after a man said a woman pulled a knife on him. When officers arrived, he said the woman was off her medication and on illegal drugs. Officers searched the building for the suspect, but they could not locate her.
