Barbara Louise Dingus, 71, of Wheelersburg passed away Friday March 28, 2025 at SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by her family. She was born June 11, 1953, a daughter of the late Otis and Gladys (Chapman) Richmond.
Barbara was a former Security Escort at Portsmouth GDP (The A Plant), as an avid reader, she would even take books with her to work. With a passion for gardening, there was always the great sense of beauty and nature surrounding her. She did quilting and sewing, creating lifelong keepsakes for everyone to enjoy. Barbara had a great collection of jewelry, which added to her joys and hobbies.
Barbara is survived by her husband Kenneth, three daughters; Jodi Kay (Shane) Dyer of Wheelersburg, April Lea (Heath) Hollback of South Webster, and Lisa Beth (Ted) Tom of Oviedo, Florida, brother; Tom (Jane) Richmond of Wellston, Ohio, four sisters; Patty (Doug) Chamberlin of Greenville, TN, Rita (Ben) Garlinger Shumway of Lucasville, Anna (Jim) Holcomb of Canal Winchester, and Fern Duncan of Portsmouth. She also was blessed with six grandchildren; Cole and Case Dyer, Tate and Laney Hollback and Henry and Adaline Tom, along with the new addition of her great grandson Luxton Wade Dyer.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Charles, Ralph, Arnold and Richard, as well as a sister, Vivian Holbrook.
Visitation will be Monday, March 31, 2025, from 5:00- 7:00 PM at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in Wheelersburg. Funeral Service will be 12 NOON, Tuesday, April 01, 2025 at the Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Franklin Furnace.
