Bridget A. Bonzo, 87, of Sciotoville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at her home with family by her beside. Born on September 17, 1937 in Scioto County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Goetz and Carline Conklin Goetz and was a longtime member of Berean Baptist Church in Sciotoville, Ohio. A faithful follower of Jesus, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
Bridget graduated in 1955 from Portsmouth High School and attended Bowling Green State University. She invested in others throughout her life, especially in the lives of her children. She led Wednesday night children services and vacation Bible school classes at church. Bridget was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader at Harding Elementary School. She was a football mom who raised support for the high school football program. Later in life she was a volunteer for the Southern Ohio Medical Center (SOMC). Her greatest investment was as a prayer warrior for her loved ones, her church, and those in need.
Also, preceding her in death was her husband of 63 years, Ronald G. Bonzo.
Surviving her children, a son, Dr. James Matthew (Dorothe) Bonzo of Sand Lake, MI; three daughters, Sandra Ellen Bonzo of Sciotoville, Debora Ann (Geof) Phillips of Wilmington, OH and Terry Jo (Dr. Jeff) Heffelfinger of Grove City, OH; four grandchildren, Matthew Heffelfinger, Matthias (Brooke) Bonzo, Mallory Heffelfinger and Hannah Phillips; and two great granddaughters, Addison and Josie.
A Celebration of Bridget’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 at Berean Baptist Church. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park.
The family will receive guests at Berean Baptist Church after 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
