Charles Edward Euton lived a life defined by resilience, hard work, and deep love for his family. Known to everyone as a remarkably kind man, Charles always had a warm smile ready for a friend or stranger alike, and he was invariably the snazziest dresser in any room.
He passed peacefully on May 18th, 2026, at his home in Wheelersburg, surrounded by the comfort of his beloved wife, Sandy Sinclair Euton, who remained faithfully by his side until the very end.
Born on September 17th, 1929, at the dawn of the Great Depression, Charles came into this world in a small community nestled along the banks of the Ohio River. From humble beginnings, he grew into a man of quiet strength and steadfast character. After high school, Charles answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy and serving honorably from 1950 to 1954, surviving combat aboard the USS Gardiners Bay in the Korean Sea. He returned home carrying the pride of a veteran and the spirit of a man ready to build something lasting.
Back in South Shore, Kentucky, he put in honest work as a fireman at The A Plant before earning his broker’s license in both Ohio and Kentucky in 1963 — launching a successful business career and opening Charles Euton Realty, that he sustained with dedication for 63 remarkable years. He remains a true legacy in the Portsmouth Area.
Throughout his life, Charles was equally devoted to his community as he was to his craft. A man of deep integrity and charitable nature, he gave generously of his time through service organizations, the Rotary Club, his church, and the Masons — always focusing on projects that provided essential support to those in need. He embodied the spirit of volunteerism, selflessly offering his time and effort whenever called upon.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Louise Euton; his first wife, Jolene; and his beloved older sisters Norma, Edna, and Betty.
He is lovingly remembered by: His surviving siblings: John Euton, Wes (Norma) Euton, and MaryAnn (Rick) Howell. His children and stepchildren: His son Mark (Cheryl) Euton, his daughter Karen (Mike) Salisbury, and his stepchildren Jon (Nicole) Sinclair and JanMichael (Bryan) Doerr. His extended family: Four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren, and one step great-grandchild.
Each of them carries a piece of who he was.
