Coked-Up Boyfriend Assaults Wheelersburg Woman
A woman contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office at 4 am to report that her boyfriend had gotten high on cocaine and assaulted her at their Wheelersburg home. She said he was leaving the scene to head to Portsmouth while she reported the incident.
When officers arrived on the scene, the woman refused medical treatment but did provide information for a domestic violence report.
Around 4:30 am, Portsmouth Police reported that the man had arrived at his Portsmouth home. Officers took information from both parties.
Kids Report Suspicious Stranger, Then The Phone Goes Out
Two kids left home alone contacted officers when they spotted a suspicious man walking around their house. They said the man was driving a white van.
Officers said the phone connection kept breaking up, so they told the kids to lock the doors and headed to the scene to make sure the kids were okay.
The man was gone by the time police arrived, but there was a package on the porch. Officers thought the man might have just been making a delivery. Officers said nothing was disturbed, and the kids were fine.
Reckless Driver Semi Reported on Charles Street
Witnesses contacted PPD at 9 am to report a semi swerving in and out of lanes. They said they’d followed the man from Rt. 73 into Charles Street.
When police caught up with the man, they learned he was just attempting to follow his GPS instructions. Police said the driver did not appear to be impaired.
Dryer Causes Wreck on US 52
Just before 12:30 pm, witnesses called 911 t report a very unusual item sitting in the middle of US 52 E. Callers said there was a clothes dryer in the right lane.
Before officers could get to the scene, someone hit the dryer. The Fire Department responded to the scene of the accident, and officers notified the Ohio State Patrol.
