Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies sprang into action to save a man threatening to commit suicide.
Just after midnight, Berkley County, West Virginia 9-1-1 contacted Scioto county to report a local man had called a suicide hotline threatening to harm himself. He told the hotline he had already taken sleeping pills and suboxone.
The man also told the hotline he had a weapon and would use it on any law enforcement personnel who came to the home.
Officers were able to determine the identity of the man and make contact with his mother. She told them where they could find him.
Deputies headed to the home, where they took the man into custody. All of this happened within 10 minutes of the original notification by West Virginia authorities.
