Donald David “Poke” Stone, 76 of Wheelersburg, died Friday, December 8, 2023, at his home. He was born December 26, 1946, in Ironton to the late Utley James and Lena Johnson Stone.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, James Russell Stone, and a sister Loretta Miller.
He was a United States Navy veteran of the Vietnam War and was retired from CSX Railroad.
Poke is survived by a son, Kenneth David Stone, a daughter Donna Diane (Cheyenne) Conley, his twin brother, Ronald (Patricia) Stone, 5 grandchildren: Damien Stone, Josh Crace, Justin Crace, Grace Conley, and Keith Conley, along with 2 great-grandchildren: Kenna and Kabhan Conley.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Mark Seevers officiating. Interment will be in Friendship Cemetery with graveside military rites by the James Dickey Post 23 American Legion. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday starting at 11:00 AM.
