It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris “Kathy” Kathleen (Nee Parker) Brown, who left us peacefully on February 7, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 31, 1948, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Doris was a cherished daughter, devoted mother, and loyal friend who touched the lives of many.
Kathy’s journey took her through the halls of education, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree and dedicated her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Her compassion for others shone brightly throughout her years in the medical field, where she provided care and comfort to those in need.
Life held many joys for Kathy. She found happiness in simple pleasures, from the warmth of crocheting to the cherished memories made with her beloved mother. Doris had a spirit of adventure, a love for traveling, and a zest for exploring new places that allowed her to embrace life fully.
Kathy is survived by three daughters: Teresa Ketchell of Ohio, Debroah Marsilio of Virginia, Nancy (Ryan) Gibbs of Ohio, two sons: Kevin (Sophia) Brown of Ohio, Timothy (Ani) Brown of Virginia, along with sixteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Ms. Brown is preceded in death by her late husband, James Joseph “Jim” Brown, her mother Ina Joanne (Nee Hager) Bibby, stepfather, Marvin Lee Bibby, her father Walt Parker and loving sister, Lulie Shaw.
