Edgel C. Eshem, 57, of West Portsmouth, died Tuesday, November 16, 2021, in Portsmouth. Born on September 8, 1964, in Portsmouth, he was a son of John and Faye Curtis Eshem and was a truck driver for Gateway Distribution.
Edgel was a retired captain from the Southern Ohio Correctional Facility with 24 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his father, John.
Surviving are his wife, Sarah Cook Eshem, a son, Edgel (Grace) Eshem, Jr. of Wheelersburg, a stepson, Brett Gumbert of Middle Town; two daughters, Tiffany (Mitchell) McCloskey of Chillicothe and Kristen (Lee) Franks of Jackson; a stepdaughter, Shealynn Gumbert of Portsmouth; his mother, Faye Curtis Eshem of Portsmouth; a brother, John (Cheryl) Eshem of Columbus; two sisters, Wanda Eshem of Portsmouth and Sally Eshem of Minford and eight grandchildren.
PRIVATE SERVICES WILL BE HELD BY THE FAMILY.
