Portsmouth Police Chief Debby Brewer and Scioto County Sheriff David Thoroughman announced two Scioto County, Ohio residents have been arrested following a Southern Ohio Drug Task Force investigation.
Police from Portsmouth P.D., SWAT, helped task force detectives serve a search warrant at the residence of 57-year-old Harvey Mosley, located at 1180 Unit A Slab Run Rd. West Portsmouth, Ohio.
Investigators seized approximately 680 grams of suspected heroin, 14 firearms, including assault rifles, handguns, a shotgun, digital scales, cutting agents, approximately $10,729 in cash, and additional evidence of drug trafficking during a search. According to police, the suspected drug seizure is worth $60,000.
Mosley faces first-degree felony charges for Possession of Drugs. Mosley was also charged with Having a Weapon While Under Disability, a felony of the 3 rd degree.
Probation officers from Scioto County Common Pleas Court, assisted by members of the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force as well as Portsmouth Police SWAT, visited the home of probationer Michael Mosley at 1180 Slab Run Road in West Portsmouth.
As a result of a search, Probation Officers and other Law Enforcement personnel found and seized approximately 8 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl, digital scales, sandwich baggies, approximately $3,825 cash, and other evidence of drug trafficking. Mosley was arrested for violating the terms and conditions of his probation.
The case will ultimately be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office for consideration of additional felony charges against all arrestees by a Scioto County Grand Jury.
