Franklin Freeman Shuff of Wheelersburg went to his Eternal Heavenly Home on Saturday, September 11, 2021, with his family surrounding him. He was 75 years old. He was born on June 1, 1946, to the late Clarence and Hazel Ferguson Shuff. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy and Ted Shuff, and three sisters, Ethel Jordan, Irene Winn, and Louise Wright.
Frank is survived by his wife Nancy Shuff, his son Brian Shuff, his daughter Crystal Shuff, his granddaughter Danielle Bless (Ryan), and a great-granddaughter who is on the way. He is also survived by four brothers, Dell (Sharon), June (Edna Mae), Roger (Bonnie), and Roy Shuff; a sister, Dottie (Harold) Percell; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Frank graduated from South Webster High School in 1965 and married his high school sweetheart Nancy Adams on June 4, 1966. He proudly served in the Navy from 1966 to 1971, including two years on the U.S.S. Suffolk County out of Little Creek, Virginia. He retired from CSX Railroad with more than 30 years of service in 2011. He attended Jeanettes Creek Christian Baptist Church in Franklin Furnace.
He loved working with his hands and being outside, including riding his tractor, fishing, and hunting. He devoted time as a member of the Scioto County Horn Hunters Club, an affiliate of the United Special Sportsman Alliance that assists handicapped children and their families. He also enjoyed finding treasures at the junkyard and flea markets. More than anything, though, he loved spending time with his family and helping out anyone who needed anything.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021, at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace, with Pastor C.J. Blevins officiating. Under the direction of the D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME “Wolfe – Nelson Chapel” in Sciotoville. The family will receive friends at the gravesite one hour prior to the service on Friday.
