Just before noon, a caller said someone stole their white Silverado truck from the UPS store parking lot. The thief then headed east on 11th Street.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered someone had left a bicycle in the truck’s parking space. Police impounded the bike.

Around 9 pm, officers spotted the stolen vehicle parked on Charles Street with the tailgate down and a new license plate.
Officers arrested 35-year-old Mason Shumaker for receiving stolen property and counterfeiting. Police booked him into the Scioto County Jail. Shumaker has previously been in court on robbery, breaking and entering, and criminal trespass charges.
