Portsmouth Police responded to the Kroger on Gay Street after a homeless woman made herself at home in front of the store.
Around 11 am, witnesses said the woman had a large knife and was cutting up meat she’d fished out of the dumpster. They also said there was trash everywhere. Officers advised her to leave, and she complied.
However, half an hour later, she returned to the pharmacy window and kept hitting the buzzer. Employees said she was talking nonsense and throwing trash everywhere.
Officers spoke to her again, and she got her things together and left.
