Things got heated at the Speedway on Gallia Street in the early-morning hours when a family argument in the parking lot turned into a police takedown.
“He Threatened Me with a Machete!”
Just before 1:40 a.m., Portsmouth Police rushed to the gas station after a terrified woman called 911, claiming her son had threatened her with a machete.
But when officers arrived, the situation took a strange turn — the woman refused to stick around to speak with police, leaving them to sort things out on their own.
Taser Stops the Trouble
Officers soon encountered the suspect, identified as Trenton Dambra, in the parking lot. When he refused to cooperate and grew combative, police say they were forced to deploy a Taser before taking him into custody.
Dambra was booked into the Scioto County Jail on charges of:
- Disorderly Conduct
- Resisting Arrest
- Obstructing Official Business
Court and Release
Dambra appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court, where a judge released him on his own recognizance — meaning no bond required — and set a hearing for December 9.
