The first responders of Lawrence County EMS and Patriot EMS don’t limit their heroics to folks in medical distress. These heroes came to the rescue of kids in need in the whole county.
Backed up by the elves of the Fayette Township Fire Department, they decided to give Santa Claus a hand by stuffing an ambulance full of toys.
There are six hundred kids on the Ironton City Mission’s Christmas list. Normally, people call these first responders for help but this time they put out the 9-1-1 call for help in making sure that all of the kids on the Mission’s list got something for Christmas.
The Stuff the Ambulance event was held Saturday and Sunday at the South Point Walmart. Two ambulances were standing by to receive donations from Christmas shoppers and according to Lawrence County EMS, the event couldn’t have gone better.
“The Walmart elves, with their hearts of gold, jumped at the chance to help Lawrence County’s children,”
Even Santa himself stopped by to thank them for backing him up.
Ironton, like Portsmouth, is the county seat. Both cities are enjoying an upswell of community pride, small business expansion, and economic development.
