Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputies and EMS crews had their hands full as a string of domestic calls turned downright chaotic—from a man crashing through a fish tank to a teenager assaulting her grandmother.
Man Crashes Through Fish Tank During Drunken Meltdown
Deputies were first called to Wheelersburg after a panicked caller reported his brother was “very intoxicated,” falling repeatedly, covered in injuries, and at one point threw his shoes before falling through a fish tank on the back porch.
When officers arrived, the 30-year-old was finally lying in bed, unable to get up.
EMS transported him to the hospital for possible alcohol poisoning.
Teen Reportedly Beats Up Grandma
Not long after, officers headed to Lucasville after a caller said a juvenile girl had assaulted her grandmother and other relatives.
By the time deputies arrived, the teen had taken off.
Grandma refused medical treatment, and deputies documented the assault.
Boyfriend Goes After Girlfriend—and Her Parents
The domestic chaos continued in West Portsmouth, where a caller reported their daughter’s boyfriend tried to attack her—and shoved them too.
Deputies detained the man and checked two guns he had with him.
Both came back clean, so officers released him and took information for a report.
A Reminder About Domestic Violence
Even when nobody wants to press charges, these calls reveal how quickly family drama can escalate into medical emergencies or violence.
If you or someone you know is dealing with an escalating situation:
✔️ Call 911 if anyone is in danger
✔️ Document injuries and threats
✔️ Seek help from local domestic violence resources
✔️ Make a safety plan—especially when substance abuse is involved
Scioto County deputies once again proved they’re on the front line of dealing with the community’s toughest and most unpredictable crises—even when it involves flying shoes and shattered fish tanks.
