Just before 11 am, officers responded to a report that an older driver had crashed into a stop sign at 3rd and Offnere Streets.
Officers and medics responded to the scene. Medics transported the driver to the hospital while officers took information for a crash report and cited the driver.
Portsmouth City Services also responded to the scene to fix the stop sign, and officers arranged for the vehicle to be towed.
