Elderly Woman Says She’s Being Held Hostage
An elderly West Portsmouth woman contacted police at 12:40 am to report her daughter was holding her hostage and then hung up.
When officers arrived on the scene, they discovered a woman with multiple open warrants and took her into custody.
Man Points Weapon at Vehicles on St. Rte. 139
Just before 1 pm, witnesses on St. Rte. 139 reported some bizarre behavior on St. Rte. 139. They said a man wearing a blanket was standing in the road, pointing a weapon at vehicles.
When officers arrived at the scene, witnesses named the suspect, and officers searched the area for the man. They were unable to locate him.
Death Threats on Dry Run Road
Just before 2 pm, an Otway caller contacted deputies to report a man was on the porch threatening to kill people.
A second caller told police the man was visiting from out of state and was in the home with his 93-year-old grandmother. The caller said the man was having a mental health crisis.
Deputies and an ambulance responded to the scene and transported the man to the hospital for treatment.
Domestic Violence Gun Threat Reported in Minford
A Minford woman contacted deputies at 7:30 pm to report a terrifying domestic assault on Thursday evening.
She said a man pulled her off the couch and held a gun in her face. The man then left the scene.
Police searched the area for the man, but were unable to locate him.
