Michael Lee Blagg, 48, of Pedro, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2023, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky. He is the son of Fred Blagg and the late Maida (McFann) Blagg. Michael was born in Ironton, Ohio on April 11, 1975.
He was a furniture salesman at Big Sandy and was a former middle school teacher at Rock Hill Schools. Michael was of the Baptist faith. He graduated from Rock Hill High School and went on to earn a master’s degree at Marietta College.
Michael loved and coached many sports including football, softball, and track.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents; Fred and Carol Blagg, and maternal grandparents; Gene and Laura McFann.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Austin Blagg, Ryleigh Blagg, and Carsen Blagg, all of Wheelersburg, Ohio, his brother; Kevin (Robin) Blagg of Pedro, his nephews; Hunter Blagg, Connor Blagg and Ethan Blagg, all of Pedro, several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Sunday July 9, 2023, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th St. Ironton, Ohio with Brother Ronnie Blagg and Brother Steven Blagg officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon Furnace Cemetery.
Visitation for family and friends will be Saturday July 8, 2023, 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home.
