Michael Lee Distel, 55 of Stout, died Saturday April 29, 2023 as a result of a tractor accident. He was born March 3, 1968 in Portsmouth to the late David Michael and Linda Kay Piatt Distel.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his grandparents George and Dorothy Piatt and Carl and Jewell Distel as well as a sister Carla Jo Distel Hall, brother-in-law, Bill Dalton and great grandchild, Hayden Jo Ruby.
Michael formerly worked at Heckett’s Muti Serve and currently for Distel Construction. He was a member of Dry Run Mission Church where he was saved 2 years ago.
Michael is survived by his wife Trudy Ann Dalton Distel whom he married on April 9, 1993, 2 daughters: Janie Case and Jodie (Eric McCormick) Kouns, a brother Mark (Lisa) Distel, 2 sisters: Gwen (Marvin) Roe and Becky (Jason) Stevens, 5 grandchildren: Emilie (Josh) Ruby, Zane Jordyn Kouns, Allison Sissel, Gabe Kouns, Trace Kouns and Bash Kouns, 6 great grandchildren: Gracie Ruby, Jaina Ruby, Jaxon Ruby, Oaklee Ruby, Hannah McKenzie and Rowen Darby, nieces and nephews: Laura Adkins, Jessica Helton, Kyle Borders, Brian Borders, Kiersten Distel, Makenna Munn, Cason Caplinger, Coalt Dalton, Timothy (Jen) Dalton and Jason (Jayme) Dalton, great nieces and nephews: Destiny Dalton, Trinity Romines, Danica Dalton, Sydney Dalton, Sierra Dalton, Ethan Dalton, Colten Adkins, Jacob Helton and Carly Jo Helton, Annaelise Dalton, Olivia Dalton, brother-in-law’s, Virgil hall and Tom (Mary) Blevins, along with all his church family and work friends.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday, May 5, 2023 at the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth with Carl Distel and Don Malone officiating and interment in Friendship Cemetery.
