A Scioto County Sheriff’s Deputy performing a child welfare check in Wheelersburg found the kids home alone.
Deputies headed to the home around 7 pm after a caller told officers the children’s parents were using drugs and they feared the kids weren’t being looked after.

When an officer arrived on the scene, a small child let them in, however, there were no adults in the home. When officers called the father, he said a woman should be home with the children, and he wasn’t sure why she wasn’t there. He said he was out buying groceries and would be there shortly.
Officers said the parents returned within half an hour.
