Overdoses at Speedway and Four Keys Inn
As usual, area medics and officers found themselves responding to multiple overdose reports.
At 4 pm, they headed to the Four Keys Inn for a report of a man overdosing in one of the rooms. The Portsmouth Fire Department transported the man to the hospital for treatment.
At 7:30 pm, callers reported two people acting as if they were on drugs in a vehicle at the pumps at Speedway. Police said the passenger did appear to be high, but the driver appeared sober.
Police and EMS responded to Campbell Avenue for a report of a man face down on the ground in front of a Campbell Avenue home. When officers and EMS arrived on the scene, the man woke up and said that he was very drunk, but not on drugs. The man refused medical treatment.
At noon, officers and medics responded to a report of an overdose near Livingston & Co. on Gallia Street. By the time officers arrived, medics told them the patient had left the scene.
At 8 pm, a caller reported a man overdosing in a vehicle in the Speedway Parking Lot. Medics and EMS responded to the scene, and the man agreed to leave with a member of the Quick Response Team to seek treatment. Police arranged to have the vehicle towed.
At 9:12 pm, officers responded to a report of an overdosed man on the ground on Kinneys Lane. Medics transported the man to the hospital.
