Paul Ray Nibert, 95, of Minford, passed away Saturday, November 30, 2024 at SOMC Hospice. He was born December 23, 1928 in Minford, a son of the late Rutherford B. and Mary (Fannin) Nibert, and retired from Children Services. Paul was an accomplished pianist; he learned to play at an early age and was playing in the church at age 7. He wrote Christmas plays and school plays, and was a 4-H advisor. Paul was playing piano for Salem Community church up until COVID of which he was a member.
He is survived by four children, Linda (David) Turner of Portsmouth; Anthony (Chris) Nibert of Columbus, Shawna (Brad) Carlson of Bluffton, SC; Kevin (Mary Faye) Nibert of Ashland, KY; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, and one great great grandson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Louise E. Borders Nibert whom he married on September 5, 1948 before her death in 2004, and two grandchildren, Jamie Nibert and Randy Joe Nibert.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 5, 2024 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Rev. Bernie Tilley officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2024 and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
