Jolena Roe, 40, of Portsmouth, is back in the headlines—and not in a good way. The Scioto County Grand Jury just indicted her on 12 counts of telecommunications fraud after allegedly running a scam spree last October.
The indictment says Roe allegedly used phones, the internet, and other tech tricks on October 3, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 13, 30, and 31 to try to swindle people—and authorities aren’t buying it.
A court warrant is out, and her next hearing is set for August 20.
But this isn’t her first rodeo. Roe’s criminal résumé is long:
- 2018: Theft → 3 years prison + 3 years probation
- 2017: Theft & forgery → 1 year prison + 3 years probation
- 2014: Forgery → 5 years community control + counseling
- Add domestic violence and drug charges on top, and it’s a full-blown repeat offender saga.
Bottom line: if your phone rings and it seems “too good to be true,” Jolena Roe’s shadow is probably hovering somewhere nearby.
