Some people collect stamps. Rocky Newman collects charges — and Sunday, he added another one to his jaw-dropping rap sheet.
Portsmouth Police booked Newman, 50, into the Scioto County Jail on an OVI charge after a Sunday afternoon traffic stop. But if you think this was just a one-time mistake, think again. A glance at Portsmouth Municipal Court records shows Newman has faced over 100 criminal charges in that court alone.
We’re talking the full criminal buffet:
- Drug charges
- Disorderly conduct
- Criminal damaging
- Assault
- Escape
- Resisting arrest
- Weapons violations
- Domestic violence
- Receiving stolen property
- Drug trafficking
- Obstruction of official business
- And even grand theft
🚗 Stolen Car Nap?
One of his more recent adventures came in April 2024 when cops found Newman and a woman passed out in a stolen car. He was charged with receiving stolen property and later pleaded guilty, earning himself a 15-month prison sentence. That same day, he also pleaded guilty to cocaine possession.
👮 U.S. Marshals Come Knocking
And who could forget his 2020 encounter with the U.S. Marshals Task Force? They showed up at his High Street home to arrest him for a parole violation. But when parole officers searched the place, they didn’t just find Newman — they found 22 grams of suspicious powder, more drugs, and digital scales. That brought in the Southern Ohio Drug Task Force, who helped uncover even more evidence.
📆 What’s Next for Rocky?
After more than a hundred charges, countless court appearances, and several stints behind bars, it seems Rocky Newman is still rolling — straight back into trouble.
We’ll keep watching. With a rap sheet like his, there’s always a sequel in the works.
