Roger Lee Brown, 88, of Wheelersburg, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025 at OSU Medical Center in Columbus. He was born August 17, 1936 in Wheelersburg, a son of the late Morton John and Thelma (Hickman) Brown and was a retired employee of New Boston Coke Plant. Roger was known as “Cookie” Papaw, attended The Rock Church, was a U.S. Navy veteran, and was a legendary Bowler.
He is survived by his wife, Connie (Pitts) Brown; one son, Roger Dale (Karen) Brown; three daughters, Nancy Stevens, Paula (Barton) Gauthreaux, Evanna Crabtree; nine grandchildren, Roger, Joshua, Charla, Randi, Rachel, Justin, Natalie, Brittany, Simon, and 9 great grandchildren, Hunter, Will, Rayne, Colton, Tristan, Liam, Wade, Waylon, and Loki. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Wanda (Atkins) Brown, and one brother, Ray Brown.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025 at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford with Ralph Clay officiating. Visitation will be held Noon to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
