One of the advantages of in-class education, as opposed to distance learning, is that educators can spot warning signs and contact law enforcement. A local school district did just that. They contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to report a student had not yet been to school that year and that no other school district had contacted them looking for transcripts.
Personnel from the school had called the home and received no answer, and when they went in person, they were told one time the student was sick and couldn’t see anyone, and the next time no one answered the door.
When officers responded to the scene, they spoke to the child’s custodial grandparents and the student and advised them the child had better go to school before charges were filed.
