Just when things couldn’t get weirder, deputies were called to County Road 119 for a full-blown sister-in-law showdown. One woman claimed her sister-in-law barged into her bedroom, jumped on her bed, yanked her hair, and started throwing punches. A second woman allegedly entered mid-melee and told her to stop pulling hair.
But the alleged attacker told a different story. She claimed her in-law was “running her mouth” and that she was simply defending herself after being attacked. With conflicting accounts and no clear aggressor, deputies arrested both women for domestic violence.
That’s when things took a dramatic turn. One of the women told deputies she might be pregnant—so no cuffs were used. As she walked to the patrol car, she suddenly collapsed, having what appeared to be a seizure. EMS was called and transported her to St. Mary’s Hospital, where deputies cited her for domestic violence while she received care.
No visible injuries were reported, but there were signs of chaos in the locked bedroom, including broken glasses and plenty of screaming during a FaceTime call that caught part of the altercation.
How to Handle Family Feuds Before They Turn Violent:
- Walk Away: If tempers flare, distance is your best friend.
- Don’t Engage: Let cooler heads prevail. Don’t escalate the situation.
- Call for Help: If you feel threatened, call police before it gets physical.
- Know When to Step Back: Sometimes, blood isn’t thicker than peace of mind.
Stay safe, Southern Ohio — and maybe skip the family reunions for a while.
