Stephen Wames Crabtree, 72 of Minford passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at SOMC Hospice. He was born March 28, 1949, in Portsmouth, a son of the late Wames L. and Hazel Leake Crabtree, he was a former clerk-weigh master at Standard Slag and bookkeeper for Fred Brisker & Associates. Steve was a 50-year active member of Minford Lions Club, a Kentucky Colonel, an active member of Minford Alumni Association, a former member of Minford Board of Education, and a U.S. Army Reserve veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki Coles Crabtree; one son, Eric (Teresa) Crabtree; two grandsons, Elijah and Ethan Crabtree, and two nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Gail Crabtree.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Fairview Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Palla officiating. Burial will be at Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the church from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Arrangements are under the direction of Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford.
