Just after 11 pm, a flood of calls came into 911 from terrified kids. Two sons and a daughter called to say their father had assaulted their mother and them at a Dutch Ridge Road home. The officer noted kids were crying in the background of the call. Then, a neighbor called for help. A woman also called in, saying her father had shot her husband.

Dispatch sent every available deputy to the home. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered a man had been shot three times, and a woman had sustained a dislocated shoulder.
EMS called for an air ambulance and met it at the Minford Airport. An ambulance transported the woman to SOMC.
Officers took a total of five witnesses in for questioning before returning them home and interviewed the woman at the hospital. Her main concern was the location of the shooting victim, who had been flown to Huntington.
The investigation continued, and detectives determined two men had shot the victim with different weapons.
Officers arrested 70-year-old Michael Collins and Raymond Ross, both of Dutch Ridge Road, and charged them with felonious assault. Their bond was set at $20,000
