What started as a 911 call about a missing gun ended with three people in handcuffs.
Around 4:30 p.m., a woman reported that her Taurus G3C 9mm semi-automatic handgun had been stolen. She told dispatchers she suspected Jessica Darby—describing her as having bright red hair and last seen wearing a white shirt and black pants while riding a bike or scooter north on Linden Avenue. The caller believed Darby was the only person with access to her grandmother’s home, where the firearm had gone missing sometime in the past two weeks.
Armed with the serial number from the gun’s original paperwork, officers launched their search and headed to an apartment on 17th Street. That’s where the case escalated.
Instead of finding just one suspect, police took three people into custody:
Jessica Darby – charged with probation violation.
Christopher Karasek – arrested for criminal trespass and probation violation. Officers also noted Karasek is on the PMHA barred list and shouldn’t have been inside a Wayne Hills apartment at all.
Joslynn Ishmael – taken into custody on a domestic violence charge.
The investigation into the stolen gun remains ongoing, but officers made it clear: one call can unravel into multiple arrests when open warrants are involved.
