An irritated grandpa who tried to help out a grandson in need contacted officers after discovering the man had blown over $1000 of his money buying stuff on that phone.
Grandpa said he allowed his grandson to use his debit card to pay his phone bill and the grandson returned it to him. However, over the course of the next few days, the grandson spent over $1,000 on Grub Hub, Door Dash, Temu, iTunes, and other app purchases.
In fact, the ungrateful grandchild overdrew the man’s account and cost him overdraft fees.
When officers arrested the grandson, he admitted ordering items but claimed he hadn’t spent anywhere near $1,000. Lawrence County deputies took him into custody and confiscated his phone. They then requested a search warrant to cross-reference the purchases.
