Violet Fern Smith, 96, of South Webster, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at Concord Health and Rehab Center in Wheelersburg. Violet was born November 30, 1923, in Wheelersburg to Guy and Effie (Meeks) Butler. She attended the Pilgrim Wesleyan Church in South Webster. Violet loved to work puzzles, do word search puzzles, and read the Bible.
She is survived by a son, Monty L. Smith (Mary) of Wheelersburg; two daughters, Glenda Shaffer of South Webster and Marilyn Libby (Dean) of Stout; ten grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Smith; a granddaughter, Candy Kelly; five sisters, Emma Russell, Katherine Ducker, Irene Lockhart, Evelyn Fritze, and Phyllis Morrison.
