Concerned employees of the Speedy Mart on Gallia Pike contacted the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office to check on the welfare of a good customer. They said the 80-year-old normally comes in every day, but they hadn’t seen him in two weeks.
A neighbor of the man also went to his house to check on him. His cars were in the drive, but he wasn’t answering the door or the phone.

Deputies looked into the matter and discovered the man had been hospitalized due to health problems.
