A chaotic overnight call in Lucasville started as a reported burglary in progress but ended with one man arrested and another injured.
Scioto County deputies were dispatched to a home around 1 a.m. after a caller claimed someone had entered the residence and attacked him.
When deputies arrived, they found three people at the scene.
One person had visible injuries but refused treatment from EMS.
🚨 MAN ARRESTED AFTER FIGHT
Following the investigation, deputies arrested Tony Geisler and booked him into the Scioto County Jail on an assault-related charge.
However, court records later listed the case as a domestic violence charge.
After appearing in Portsmouth Municipal Court, he was released on his own recognizance.
👀 WHY “BURGLARY” CALLS SOMETIMES CHANGE
Police say initial 911 reports often sound very different from what officers discover when they arrive.
What callers describe as:
- A burglary
- Home invasion
- Or stranger attack
Sometimes turns out to involve:
- Family disputes
- Domestic violence situations
- Friends or acquaintances
- Or arguments that escalated into physical fights
⚠️ DOMESTIC CALLS REMAIN SOME OF THE MOST DANGEROUS
Law enforcement officers frequently describe domestic disturbances as some of the most unpredictable and dangerous calls they handle because emotions are already running high before deputies even arrive.
