A Lucasville woman was killed early Thursday morning in a head-on crash on State Route 104 in Morgan Township.
According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 3:40 a.m. near milepost 15 in Scioto County.
Troopers said a 2019 Jeep Cherokee was traveling northbound on State Route 104 while a 2008 Chevy Impala was traveling southbound.
According to the preliminary investigation, the Jeep traveled left of center and struck the Impala head-on.
The driver of the Impala, Ruth D. Spencer, 51, of Lucasville, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Jeep, Abreanna Steele, 28, of Waverly, sustained serious injuries and was transported from the scene by EMS.
Troopers said impairment is not suspected as a factor in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, and further updates will be released as they become available.
