A family’s prized 4-wheeler vanished from their farm, only to be traced hundreds of miles away thanks to a hidden Apple AirTag.
Deputies were called after the device signaled that the ATV, stored in a locked garage, was now at a vacant residence in Glenwood, West Virginia. When officers arrived, the garage door had been locked—raising questions about whether a key had been used or the lock had been tampered with.
The owner confirmed the 4-wheeler had been fully paid off for years and the last tenant at the West Virginia property moved out months ago. While no working cameras were on the property, a trail camera pointed at the driveway had been dead since March.
The stolen ATV has been entered into NCIC and Mason County authorities have been contacted. The investigation remains active as deputies work to recover the vehicle.
Tips: Always secure keys, consider GPS tracking devices, and regularly check trail cameras to protect valuable equipment from theft.
