Portsmouth Police responded to reports of a half-naked man on Chillicothe Street and investigated a report of a 30-year-old man having sex with a teenage girl. We hit the highlights of the Portsmouth Police Chief’s Daily Briefing.
Thirty-Year-Old Man Caught Messing With Teen Girl
An upset mom contacted officers at 9:20 am with a disturbing report. She said she’d discovered that a 30-year-old man is engaged in a sexual relationship with her 17-year-old daughter.
To make matters worse, she said the relationship has been going on for two years.
Officers took information for a report.
Worried Families
Police were dispatched to Alexandria House to check on the welfare of a man in his 80s. His sister had not been able to get in touch with him for a week. His phone says it is not accepting calls.
He frequents the Kroger Store on Gay and employees are familiar with him but they have not seen him in some time.
Police went to the apartment building and were able to locate him. He was all right but was having problems with his phone. He said he planned to get it looked at after the weather cleared up.
The concerned family of a different man asked the police to do a welfare check at 7:35 pm. The 68-year-old was ill with Covid and family members could not contact him.
Officers headed to his home. He didn’t open the door, as he is ill, but told them he was fine, just sick. Police advised him to contact his worried relatives.
Car Stuck at Spartan Stadium
A man contacted police at 12:14 pm to say that his car was stuck in the water near Spartan Stadium. He was running over to his 4th Street home to change out of wet clothes before returning.
A tow truck was dispatched.
Half-Naked on Chillicothe
At 12:34 pm, a caller reported a man with half his clothes off lying on the ground behind Bob & Floyd Tire Sales o Chillicothe Street.
Officers discovered a deeply troubled man with whom they have nearly daily contact. They advised him to put his clothes on.
Two hours later a witness reported the troubled man shirtless in the road and yelling. If you remember, a few weeks ago officers discovered him unconscious on the levy with part of his finger missing. Police said that finger wound had opened up again.
Portsmouth Fire Department medics transported him to SOMC for treatment.

Camping Out at the Bank
PNC Bank on Gallia contacted police at 2:17 pm to report two homeless men were set up in their vestibule with a sign. They left when the police arrived.
The US Bank Drive-Thru contacted officers at 3:12 pm to report a man camping out in the lobby doing laundry. He left before the police arrived.
